What are TeachStreet Search Results?  A listings of relevant results in 3 tabs: – Classes – Teachers – Articles  Each tab ranks results based upon relevance, teacher quality (based upon # of and quality of reviews), # of active listings and other criteria such as having a photo and match to  Both classes and Teachers have a the query itself. “Featured Teacher” listing where one qualifies. 3
  4. 4. How we rank results  TeachStreet search results are primarily ranked by relevance to the search query. Listings Teachers Articles • Relevance is determined • Relevance is determined • Relevance to search by by category associated query - match to listing title, with Teacher relevancy • Recency of post - subject of listing, match to query • Images (or videos) - subject of instructor • Results are sorted to associated with article • Listing status – active or show the most relevant (preference is given to expired? How long ago teachers who are: posts with images) did it start? - active • # of comments on - have reviews • Instructor status as article - have written posts defined by site activity: - have photos - writing article - have currently active - comments classes. - rating - # of reviews 4
  5. 5. Getting in to Google  TeachStreet profile pages and class listings appear regularly in Google Search results  Profiles and listings with detailed descriptions perform best. 5

Featured Teacher  Selection Criteria – Must have an average review score above 3.5 stars – Must have a photo – Must have an active class in related subject of query or subject of page – Ranks higher if teacher has articles and reviews  The top teachers who meet the criteria above are displayed on Subject pages, and rotated into the feature teacher slot 6
