  3. 3. Diet The Island Fox eats fruits, insects, birds, eggs,crabs, deer mice, summer holly, cholla cactus,rose, sumac, nightshade, ground nestingbirds, grasshoppers, lizards, and crickets.
  4. 4. Anatomy The Island Fox has large ears, brown and redfur, a long bushy tail, a pointed snout, andsharp curved claws.

General Information and InterestingfactsThe Island Fox mates in late February and early March.They have 1-5 pups.When the pups are born the pupsare blind and helpless.The golden eagles is four timesthe size of the Island Fox and can easily prey on thefox.The golden eagle and bald eagle have beenchanging the population of the Island Fox.The IslandFox is related to dogs and jackals. A grown male isabout 41 inches.
