Southern Right Whales

  1. 1. Southern Right Whales Thomas Cooper The Walker School
  2. 2. Right whales are the species of large baleen whales belonging to the genus Eubalaena.

  4. 4. They are called quot;right whalesquot; because whalers thought the whales were the quot;rightquot; ones to hunt, as they float when killed and often swim within sight of the shore.
  5. 5. 7,500 Southern Right Whales are spread throughout the southern part of the Southern Hemisphere.
