2. The Christian life is not always an
easy road. Sometimes we get off
track. The Bible said to encourage
your brothers and sisters in Christ
daily so that no one TURNS AWAY
from the living God. If you have
found yourself backsliding, or
drifting away from the Lord. Here’s
these practical steps will help get
you back on course today.
3. Here’s How: First Step
Examine your FAITH-LIFE regularly.
Test yourselves to see if you are in the
faith. Examine yourselves. Or do you not
recognize for yourselves that Jesus
Christ is in you? Unless you fail the test.
(2 Corinthians 13:5 HCSB)
4. Here’s How: Second Step
If you find yourself drifting away.
Repent IMMEDIATELY!
Watch out, brothers, so that there won't
be in any of you an evil, unbelieving
heart that departs from the living God.
But encourage each other daily, while it
is still called today , so that none of you
is hardened by sin's deception.
(Hebrews 3:12-13 HCSB)
5. Here’s How: Third Step
Come to God daily for FORGIVENESS and
CLEANSING.
Fellowship with God.
1 John 1:5-10 (HCSB)
6. 5 Now this is the message we have heard
from Him and declare to you: God is light,
and there is absolutely no darkness in Him. 6
If we say, "We have fellowship with Him,"
and walk in darkness, we are lying and are
not practicing the truth. 7 But if we walk in
the light as He Himself is in the light, we
have fellowship with one another, and the
blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all
sin. 8 If we say, "We have no sin," we are
deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in
us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful
and righteous to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If
we say, "We have not sinned," we make Him
a liar, and His word is not in us.
7. Here’s How: Fourth Step
Continue daily seeking the Lord with
your whole MIND and HEART.
"As for you, Solomon my son, know the
God of your father, and serve Him with a
whole heart and a willing mind, for the
LORD searches every heart and
understands the intention of every
thought. If you seek Him, He will be
found by you, but if you forsake Him, He
will reject you forever.
(1 Chronicles 28:9 HCSB)
8. Here’s How: Fifth Step
Stay in the Word of God.
Keep studying and learning daily.
Hold on to instruction; don't let go.
Guard it, for it is your life.
Don't set foot on the path of the wicked;
don't proceed in the way of evil ones.
Avoid it; don't travel on it.
Turn away from it, and pass it by.
(Proverbs 4:13-15 HCSB)
9. Faith Triumphs: Romans 5:1-5
1 Therefore, since we have been declared
righteous by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Also through
Him, we have obtained access by faith into
this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice
in the hope of the glory of God. 3 And not
only that, but we also rejoice in our
afflictions, because we know that affliction
produces endurance, 4 endurance produces
proven character, and proven character
produces hope. 5 This hope does not
disappoint, because God's love has been
poured out in our hearts through the Holy
Spirit who was given to us. (HCSB)
10. Romans 5:6-11
6 For while we were still helpless, at the appointed
moment, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For rarely
will someone die for a just person—though for a
good person perhaps someone might even dare to
die. 8 But God proves His own love for us in that
while we were still sinners Christ died for us! 9
Much more then, since we have now been declared
righteous by His blood, we will be saved through
Him from wrath. 10 For if, while we were enemies,
we were reconciled to God through the death of
His Son, [then how] much more, having been
reconciled, will we be saved by His life! 11 And not
only that, but we also rejoice in God through our
Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now
received reconciliation. (HCSB)
