Physical care of your Nobi<br />Your computer will slow down if it’s banged around – things loosen up, the hard drive gets slower<br />Be careful how you handle it<br />Don’t ink while screen is up<br />Don’t pick it up by the screen<br />Don’t fidget w/it or wiggle screen<br />Don’t overstuff your Nobi bag<br />Make room for it in your locker<br />Carry Nobi IN bag if leaving the room<br />Carry bag over shoulder or cross body (not hanging down<br />Be careful where you place it<br />Avoid magnets and extreme temps<br />Know where you laptop is and keep it safe<br />

Maintenance<br />Keep it clean, inside and out<br />Clean it when it looks dirty (make sure it’s shut down first)<br />Empty the recycle bin - daily<br />Disk cleanup – monthly or more<br />Defrag – monthly or more<br />Panda scans <br />Quick scans – weekly<br />Full scans – monthly or when there are problems<br />

Habits<br />Back up regularly<br />Save frequently<br />Keep it charged & plug in when below 25%<br />Be careful what you click on<br />Read the screen<br />If in doubt, cancel<br />Keep few apps open – only the ones you need<br />Keep your homepage simple (like Google or the school website) so Internet loads quickly<br />Run updates when available (when there’s time)<br />Don’t shut down when updates are running<br />Shut down your computer regularly <br />Standby between classes can cause network & connectivity issues<br />Don’t put computer in bag when it’s on<br />
