The Enemy Brothers 16 Rassendyll had many questions aboutthe relation between the two brotherswho wanted the same thing. They were not good friends. They both wanted to be a king. The king was at the huntinglodge while the Duke was at thecity preparing for the coronation( how strange !! )
Johann surprised 17 Johann, the Dukes servant, arrived atthe inn. As soon as he saw Rudolf Rassendyll,he stepped back in surprise as if hehad seen something amazing becauseRudolf looked exactly like the king. Knowing that Rassendyll was going toStrelsau for the coronation, Johannoffered Rudolf to stay at his sistershouse in Strelsau .

The Castle It was very old but well built. There was a moat all around it. There was a large mansionbehind it, which was used byDuke Michael as his countryhome. The old castle could only bereached by a drawbridgebetween it and the mansion.19
Meeting The king’s men When Rudolf got tired, he decided to rest by lying against atree. He fell asleep. Two men were looking at Rudolf in amazement. They worked for the king. They were Colonel Sapt and Fritz vonTarlenheim. Colonel Sapt recognised the name Rassendyll. Sapt believed that Rudolf Rassendyll and the King looked likeidentical twins, but they did not have identical personalities orskills. He also said that the king preferred eating to action. He wasnot a fighting man.20
Meeting the king The king arrived. AsRudolf looked at him, hegave a loud cry and theKing stood back inamazement looking atRudolf.21
The Identical Twin The king and RudolfRassendyll looked exactly thesame. There were slight differences:1. The king’s mouth was perhapsless wide2. Rassendyll’s face was a littlethinner.23
Identical In Appearance ,Different In Personality24 Though they looked almost liketwins , they were different inpersonality:
Identical In Appearance ,Different In Personality25“Where are you travelling to?” the king said“To Strelsau, sir. To the coronation.” Rudolf saidThe King looked at the two other men andsmiled.“What would my brother Michael think: if hesaw us two together!” he cried. He only thought of his brother’s reaction, hedidn’t think of the consequence of having adouble in a coronation.

Why ?! The whole country as well as most ofthe army was waiting for the king tobe crowned. If he wasnt crowned on the specifiedday, he will never be crowned andDuke Michael would take the crown. Duke Michael wanted to be the king .he planned to get rid of his brother tobe the king .31
The Worries 32 The wise ,experienced oldSapt had a plan. He asked Rassendyll topretend to be the king andattend the coronationinstead of the real king. Rassendyll was afraid as
The Worries 33 WHY People would realisethat he’s not the King! He is English He is not Ruritanian Sapt and Fritz had adifferent opinion :
The Worries 34 WHAT His German is PERFECT If they dress him in differentclothes, no one will know. If he doesn’t go to Strelsau, DukeMichael will be King, and the Kingwill either be dead or in prison. The country needs his help. Rassendyll agrees on playing theking’s role.
The plan to save theking and country35 Sapt’s plan :1. Carried the poisoned king to the cellar.2. They didn’t wait for Michael’s guard butleave for Strelsau at once.3. Josef would tell Michael and his menthat the hunting lodge was empty.4. Go to the palace and attend thecoronation.
