Letter Of Citizen Concern To Town Council

  1. 1. (Your Name here) (Your address) (Enter date here) Town of Athabasca 4705 – 49 Avenue Athabasca Alberta T9S 1B7 Telephone: 780-675-2063 Fax: 780-675-4242 Email: town@town.athabasca.ab.ca Colleen Powell and Town Council Members I do not believe that realigning the Tawatinaw River is in the best interests of the people or wildlife of the Athabasca district, I am writing to request that the town of Athabasca insist that an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is done on this major realignment project. I feel that a full EIA is the only way to ensure that all impacts to the biodiversity, wildlife and riparian habitat as well as social and cultural implications will be taken into account. The best and fastest solution would be an alternative proposal from Alberta Transportation that does not include alterations to the Tawatinaw River. Yours Truly (Your name here)
  2. 2. We encourage you to write your own letter. The above letter is an example letter that can be used if you do not have time to write your own. You can personalise it as you wish. (It would be nice to include at least one personal reason or concern for your opposition to the realignment.) If you write your own letter, a request for an Environmental impact assessment should be included, If the realignment project goes through, the EIA will improve some aspects of the plan, which will lessen the impact on the environment.
