  4. 4.  Islam came and placed high standards and values. The ties of kinship are so important that they are to be uphold irrelevant of their religious status. Each person in a family has been allocated with important roles and responsibilities.A Muslim Family
  5. 5. “And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him,and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of themreach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.” Quran, 17:23Parents’ Rights
  6. 6. Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported:I said: Messenger of Allah, which of the deeds (takes one) nearer toParadise? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Prayer at its proper time, I said: What next, Messenger of Allah? He replied: Kindness to the parents. I said: What next? He replied: Jihad in the cause of Allah. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.” Quran, 31:15Parents’ Rights
  8. 8. Luqman’s advice to his son: “And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he wasinstructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah . Indeed, association [with him] is great injustice.“ Quran, 31: 13Children’s Rights

To Strengthen Our Faith. • The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When a man marries, he indeed perfects half of his religion.” • Through marriage, we acquire a team-mate who lends his or her support to our emotional, social, physical and spiritual well-being. • Through marriage, we are no longer self-centered individuals.Husband & WifeRelationship

To Develop and Nurture Our Love. “It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate that he might dwell in security with her…” Quran, 7:189 • This gift of love propels us to take the selfless act of being committed and responsible to another person, who, at first may have been a mere stranger.Husband & Wife Relationship

To Safeguard Our Chastity • Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “There are three who have a right to the help of Allah: The one who struggles in the cause of Allah; The slave whose master has agreed to his buying his freedom when he wishes to pay the sum; And the one who marries out of the desire to live a chaste life.” Hadith reported by Imam TirmidhiHusband & Wife Relationship

To Protect Women and Children. “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other…” Quran, 4:34 • When a man marries a woman, he takes over all the responsibilities from her father in providing maintenance, care, guardianship and protection of her honour and well-being. In this way marriage provides economic and social security for a woman.Husband & Wife Relationship
