Tubman University Foundation2443 Fair Oaks Blvd., Suite 374Sacramento, CA 95825Email: Web: Telephone: 559 994-26351June 10, 2013Dear Friend of Tubman University,As world economy and international relations affect the daily lives of young people across the globe, particularly in developing countries, three United States Universities have volunteered generously tobecome development partners with the William V. S. Tubman University (TU). TU is the second publicinstitution of tertiary education located in Harper, Maryland County. Established in 2009, TU will be thehost of an architectural design competition that will lead to the construction of an “e-brary” on TU campus. In pursuit of this unique endeavor, Howard, Morgan State and Tuskegee Universities will announce theircollective ventures with TU on June 28, 2013, when the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will besigned, followed by a reception celebrating the launching of the collaboration. Among the guests will bedignitaries from all four Universities, the Liberian Embassy in Washington, D.C., and leaders of theMarylanders for Progress along with other Liberian Diaspora organizations in the USA.It is envisaged that the competition under reference will provide an opportunity, as well as a challenge, tostudents at US University campuses to become part of the rebuilding of TU that was entirely destroyedduring the Liberian civil conflict. The "new" TU enrolled its first student body comprising 287 students in2009; that number has risen to more than 800 in 2013. While the students pursue their college education, all campus facilities and structures are being re-constructed around them. The TUF Board kindly invites you to join in support of this worthy cause by becoming a sponsor of thisInaugural Gala Reception that will support the International Architectural Design Competition.
