The people will not have enough respect for him and his words and will not be deterred from acting according to their lower natures </li></ul><ul><li>Too fierce : The people will fear him , which does not create a happy state of affairs. When fear is the motivating factor , people will do what is necessary to save their careers , but will not imbibe the principles on a deeper level . Like a heavily disciplined children will be righteous in public , but as soon as they are alone , they will do whatever they want </li></ul>

A leader must be Compassionate but Strong - balanced character <ul><li>Compassionate vs. too Sentimental or too Forgiving </li></ul><ul><li>Compassion must be a part of the leader’s mental make-up , but he must guard against displaying a too-forgiving nature , because then he will be considered weak by low men , and they will take advantage of his kindness and will continue their sinful activities without fear </li></ul><ul><li>If one of his follower commits an offense , that person must be punished to bring about the necessary rectification </li></ul><ul><li>A spiritual leader always treat others with compassion and love and offer them sincere service . He never give offense but to remain always humble . Humility is the quality of a spiritualist </li></ul><ul><li>Spiritual leaders gain power from the godless , by chanting mantras and perform sacrifices , as a way to clear the atmosphere and their minds of the pollution from materialistic activities </li></ul>

The mode of Goodness ( Sattva-guna ) <ul><li>Is the “ Vasudeva state “ - the state in which we can understand the science of God ( the launching pad to higher states of self-realization ) </li></ul><ul><li>“ One who chants ( the Lord’s holy names ) inoffensively is overwhelmed with thoughts of others’ well-beings “ - Bhaktivinoda Thakura </li></ul><ul><li>“ Learned persons dedicated to Vedic culture are elevated by the mode of goodness to higher and higher position. The mode of ignorance , on the other hand , forces one to fall headfirst into lower and lower births . And by the mode of passion one continues transmigrating through human bodies . “ - Srimad-Bhagavatam 11.25.21 </li></ul><ul><li>We will be able to elevate ourselves to a higher position both in this life and after death </li></ul><ul><li>Nobody can advance in spiritual life without coming to the platform of sattva-guna </li></ul>

Passion ( Rajo-guna ) and Ignorance ( Tamo-guna ) <ul><li>Both will degrade us , leaving us fixed in our own selfishness </li></ul><ul><li>Incarcerate us and cause chaos , deviation , disturbance and the loss of personal integrity </li></ul><ul><li>They force us to enter material bodies again and again . With no hope of liberation from the physical sphere </li></ul><ul><li>We have to give us the association of these two modes . Then , there is question of progress </li></ul>

Life has a higher purpose <ul><li>Most of us are only concerned with improving eating , sleeping , mating and defending - our physiological needs , our minds are fragmented by unlimited desires </li></ul><ul><li>Soon death follows and everything one acquire in the material realm is lost . All that is carried away with the soul , are the values he imbibed and the composite of the deeds he performed </li></ul><ul><li>Now people are trying to entertain themselves unhealthy ways and speeding up their dying process </li></ul><ul><li>Real living means connecting with our real identity , the higher identity in its connection with God. From this point , we can experience real love </li></ul><ul><li>Real Love is based on wholeness , selflessness and the ability to share our essence in very genuine ways </li></ul>

A principle-centered servant leader <ul><li>Principles are not the same as values ; they are laws of the universe pertaining to human relationship and organizations , they are much more binding , have to do with ethics , they are natural rules, universal and its essences are not subject to change </li></ul><ul><li>Examples ,Karma : the law of reciprocity = every action has an equal and opposite reaction , Jnana : the principle knowledge ,Vijnana : to realize knowledge ,Atma-vidya : to self-realization , or the understanding of the self as the soul </li></ul><ul><li>Understanding these laws and principles creates fairness , integrity , honesty , dignity , service , liberation , love …etc., </li></ul>
