  2. 2. K2 smartforms overview A faster, easier way to create forms for business applications. No code, no loss of control. Drag and drop reusable components into place, tie the form to a workflow, use data from various systems, roll it out and move forward
  3. 3. Components There are two components to K2 Forms: • The K2 Designer is a browser based design canvas that allows you to create SmartObjects, Views Pages, and Workflows. • Runtime K2 Forms are the end user experience of working with Views and Pages, also browser based.

SmartObjects Use K2 SmartObjects to integrate workflows with any line-of-business system  Active Directory and Exchange to create and manage user and email accounts  SQL Database  Oracle  SharePoint  Microsoft Dynamics CRM  SAP  create and update Word documents and automatically generate PDFs using workflow and data Note: SmartObject options limited by Designer.

SmartForms vs InfoPath InfoPath • InfoPath will discontinue. • You need SharePoint or InfoPath Client. • InfoPath support multiple data sources. • Allow Code Behind. • SmartForms is future compliant. • You don’t need SharePoint or any Client. • SmartForms Coupled enabled. SmartForms • Any server side action through smart objects.

REPORTS DESIGN  Create custom reports that include K2 workflow data and K2 SmartObject data using the drag-and-drop K2 Report Designer  Access K2 workflow and SmartObject data in standard report creation tools like Microsoft PowerPivot and SQL Report Builder  Use the K2 Event Bus to set up custom notifications based on specific workflow or data events, including information from both line-of-business systems and workflow data
