  2. 2. <ul><li>ASCII is an industry standard code, developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and published in 1963. </li></ul><ul><li>ASCII is a seven-bit code (a range of 0 to 127 decimal) which assigns a binary value to letters, numbers, and other characters. (Nowadays, most computer work with 8bit-code, which can represent 256 different values) </li></ul><ul><li>ASCII codes represent text and control characters in computers, communications equipment, and other devices that work with text. </li></ul><ul><li>Most computers use ASCII codes to represent text, which makes it possible to transfer data from one computer to another. </li></ul>What is ASCII ?
