GIRLS WHO ROCK, the third annual benefit concert for She’s the First during Internet Week New York, was an outrageous success, raising more this year than the last two years combined! GWR 2012: •$30,000 grand total, which will sponsor 10 girls at the Shanti Bhavan boarding school in Bangalore, India, plus two college scholarships! GWR 2010: GWR 2011: •Made a local impact by inviting the Park Slope Rock School to be part of the show.•$6,000 raised •$17,000+ raised from event and online campaign •Introduced a successful star-studded•Sponsored 3 girls (Grace, charitybuzz auction component, whichHappiness, & Elizabeth), who •Funded the school year for 29 raised an estimated $5,000 (some lots stillhave since graduated! girls in primary level at the pending). Arlington Academy of Hope in•Funded 2 years each in •Moved by the event, an anonymous donor UgandaAfricAid’s Kisa Project program pledged $5,000 the night of the concert!in Tanzania
  3. 3. We Rocked Social Media Named Top Twitter Influencer of #IWNY@GIRLSWHOROCKNY was the #1 most influential Twitter handle of Internet Week, according to the reputable socialmedia monitoring & research company Synthesio.

Hellen & Tammy Tibbetts Actress Monique Coleman of were on NBC’s New York High School Musical hosted a Nightly News with broadcast, bringing Scarborough (We reached her 420,000 Twitter followers 5 million homes!) along. 10,000+ viewers watched live! On May 16, we were Aol’s Cause of the Day. We received 12.4 million impressions on the homepage!

She’s the First was named to the League of Extraordinary Women in Fast Company— alongside Oprah and Michelle Obama!Look for:•Travel blog posts by Christen Brandt, Director of InternationalOperations, and Kate Lord, Photographer, who took a self-fundedtrip to India in June:•Kate’s incredible photos:•An upcoming documentary (slated to premiere in September,during Social Media Week) on the life of one Shanti Bhavanstudent, Maheshwari, who is first in her family to graduate.•Continued communication & Skype with the girls.•Interactive student profiles on ofthose specifically sponsored by GWR 2012
