Hamish homework week_5-6

  1. 1. Will we be able tomove to another planet?
  2. 2. What?• We are currently searching for a planet that humans could inhabit in the distant future and are using satellites to do this.
  3. 3. Where?• The planet would have to be in a good distance from a sun so it was able to be the right temperature. This area is called the goldilocks zone.• It would have to have a rich atmosphere of oxygen, carbon and nitrogen.• It would also have to have water which is not too hot or cold.
  4. 4. Why?• The reason that in the future we might have to move to another planet is basically if we trash this world we will not be able to live here.• We might also overpopulate and will not have enough space or natural resources.
  5. 5. When?• Before we move we will have to make our rockets a lot faster and heaps more efficient.• Improvements in technology, engineering and types of fuel are essential.• It is unlikely it will be possible to move from earth within the next 200 years.
  6. 6. Who?• NASA Astro physicists are researching this and they have sent a satellite called Kepler to find a suitable planet an are hoping to get positive results in the next 2 years.
  7. 7. How?• Well obviously we would travel there on a very fast rocket.• We are discovering these things using satellites like Kepler mentioned before.
  8. 8. Diagram Goldilocks zoneThis diagram shows where the goldilocks zone is.
  9. 9. Conclusion• Overall if we move it will not be for a long time and probably will take more efficient and powerful resources.
  10. 10. Thanks for listening• BYE
