There is huge untapped potential in the trigger-point opportunities to include energy improvements in other work offered by the general home repair, maintenance and improvement market, a thriving market for which there is an ongoing demand, not typically dependent on public sector stimulus. Including energy efficiency and micro-renewables measures at the same time as other works can help address barriers such as cost and disruption. Qualitative data was collected from building trades people (UK), to gain a different perspective on this issue from that usually heard in policy circles, from an industry dominated by micro-enterprises active at a local level.
