research

Smell of a loaf of bread in the oven = comfort, homely,
(emotional value), these aspects can help to sell a house!

Egyptian bread is heavily subsidised so that the poor can buy it
very cheaply. It is politically valuable. Put the price up = social
unrest / keep the price down = costs the government billions
                                                          (financial)

Pieces of toast with images of Jesus / Mary have been sold for
                                  a high price (religious value)

Value of Ancient Egyptian loaf of bread (artefact)
     http://www.prosphora.org/page38.html both then and now!

Under a coat a French stick loaf of bread could look like a
shotgun and be used to hold up a bank!

During World War II in Holland there was the 'Hunger Winter'
when there was no bread. The Swedes air-dropped loaves of
                              white bread = Operation Manna.

Moldy bread on wounds = penicillin!

Bread soaks liquids and oil up.

Bread absorbs smells, salt, burnt taste (cabbage, soup, rice)
