1. Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010) This Vietnam based first person shooter was produced for the Xbox
360, PS3 and the Wii. Other than fighting in Germany against the S.S. or playing the zombie mode,
one thing is for sure. This game has an amazing assortment of weaponry and artillery. This game
even without multi- player and expansion packs is a true classic. Online play on this game is second
to none and the explosions shake the PS3 controllers at every turn.
2. Battlefield Vietnam (2004) This game was made for Microsoft Windows and it was a first person
shooter. This game has a story line that is as real as it gets. Tanks, bombers from the sky and foot
soldiers are at every turn. This game allows you to play as an American and later as a South
Vietnamese soldier. The sound and game play in comparable to Black Ops. The battle scenes are
very bloody and very realistic by any standards.
3. Elite Warriors: Vietnam (2005) This game takes place in first and third person modes at various
times during battle. This game came out for home computers only and it was similar in many ways to
Black Ops. Helicopters, planes and fires are abound in this real life war story that is real as it
possibly can be. Land mines are at every step so be very careful. The weapons and ammo are
awesome and the cut scenes are pretty realistic looking.
4. Tunnel Rats (2009) This was a single player first person shooter that was made for Microsoft
Windows only. In this game you must disarm bombs and also collect dog tags from dead soldiers.
The game focuses on the player as he tries to escape certain death after his helicopter is shot down.
I will not spoil the ending but it is one of the best endings to a war game ever produced.
5. Nam (1998) This Vietnam war game was made exclusively for DOS and Windows. This game is
often compared to Duke Nukem 3D with subtle changes of course. Your character is a decorated
Marine Corps Sergeant. who is stranded in between Laos and Vietnam by yourself with only three
weapons. You must rescue prisoners of war while eliminating the enemy and escaping the camps.
This game is actually a classic and the most addicting of all these games but it's only available on PC
as opposed to video game systems.
6. Conflict: Vietnam (2004) This video game came out for the Xbox and the PS2. It is a third person
shooter and it opens right before the Tet Offensive in Vietnam. In the deep jungles with no
communication or help from anyone. The game has a great story line with realistic cut scenes. Also,
It is a strategy game so it is important to make the correct decisions in order to win the war at hand.
7. Lost Patrol (1990) This Vietnam role playing game was made for the Amiga and the Dos. Your
helicopter crashes over Saigon and now it is survival of the fittest. The game has many up close
action scenes like: fire fights, fist fights and mine fields to traverse. In order to beat this game you
must assume the roles of all the troops in order to judge their moral and keep it high. You must
navigate the jungles as quite as possible until gunfire comes.
8. Men of Valor (2004) This first person shooter is made exclusively for the Xbox and it was a single
player Vietnam war game. This game has 16 total missions and your character and your platoon are
Marines. This game is rated M and it holds nothing back. The game has exact war time replicas of
the guns used back then.

2. 9. Shellshock: Nam 67 (2004) This third person shooter was made for the PS2, XBox and Windows.
The squad is supposed to perform an air raid but when thing's go wrong you end up lost on foot in
the jungle. Your jobs include saving hostages, taking bombs apart and burning villages that housed
guns. This war time game also is very factual with it's story line but watch it closely because you will
get clues on what to do next.
10. Platoon (2002) This game was based solely on the movie of the same name and it was for the PC.
It has actual cut scenes directly from the film and the sounds and playing fun factor are aces. The
game does not have great sound effects or even graphics for that matter but the game play will keep
you entertained for hours.
