Well, I already received 4 standing ovations before I was 18 years old.
Yup, thousands of people standing on their feet, applauding with their hands, and basically telling me: “Okay, okay, Peter, you won. You’re the best. Don’t get too excited. Take it easy, go home, relax. By the way, congratulations !”
“ Fear causes hesitation, and hesitation will cause your worst fears to come true.” - Bodhi, in PointBreak
Indeed, fear is a virus. A socially transmitted virus.
You talk to a loser, and he can transfer his fear to you. It takes only five minutes of conversation.
Identify all the losers in your life, and cut off communication with them.
It may seem ruthless, but in the long run, you can help losers more by winning. And you can only win if you avoid people who carry the fear virus.
“ A prince should never flinch from being blamed for acts of ruthlessness which are necessary for safeguarding the State and their own person. You must take these things so much to heart that you do not fear to STRIKE even the nearest that you have, if they be implicated.” - Sir Francis Walsingham to Queen Elizabeth
You can’t win, in any game, unless you are ruthless about winning.
Many people ask me to coach them. My answer is often, “You’re not ready for coaching. You still have delusions. You’re not yet ready to hear the truth about yourself.”
I’m always searching for leaders to run my businesses, and I carefully evaluate people’s willingness to learn.
It’s very easy: the more questions they ask, the more willing and eager they are to learn.
People who don’t ask questions, don’t learn. If they don’t learn, they cannot grow. If they cannot grow, they sure can’t grow my business!
I also evaluate people based on how ready they are to experience discomfort. People who seek comfort, security or easy things, will never succeed.
It’s very simple: There’s the comfort zone, and then the discomfort zone, and finally the wealth zone. You can’t get to the wealth zone without going through discomfort.
