Which type of „self‟ are you most to time? Are you open; Blind; hidden or unknown? DECIDE YOUR OBJECTIVE -After carefully studying and accepting who you are, set your objective or goal. Do you need to be more open in some or almost all your interpersonal relationships? Set a time frame to achieve your goal.P.T.O. Take a chance , take as many chances as you get because one never really knows who-knows-who and when one gets golden opportunities often, chance encounters result in long lasing friendship, business contact and success for the „OPEN SELF‟ personality . HELP OTHERS -Form family and friends to total strangers, everyone needs „friends-in-need‟ because being have often been called „social beings‟. BE PRO-ACTIVE AT ALL TIMES -Pro – active or „Take-charge‟ behavior is the behavior of the winner. Cultivate pro-active habits even when other people must do their share of the work. Help, guide, contribute and encourage if you can and let people know that you care and you are available to help if needed. SMILE. SMILE A LOT -The world is full of „non-smiles‟ thus making people who smile very special. Smiling needs a positive attitude .Smiling conveys a positive attitude. Smiling attracts positive people and produces positive results in the life. KEEP „SMALL SUCCESS‟ ON GOING -Hobbies. Sports. Blood donating. Visiting the needy. Singing. Dancing. Music……. do the things you enjoy doing and invite people to share your „small success‟…P.T.O.JOHARI WINDOW-The following diagram shows the four types of self in the Johari Window format.TYPES OF SELF
  4. 4. The self operates at four levels and the better one understands the „self‟ the more constructive the interpersonalbehavior.  OPEN SELF -When a person knows one‟s own personality and is willing to share ideas, thoughts, feeling and values with others, that person is called an „OPEN SELF‟ personality.  BLIND SELF -When others know more about a person than the person, such a state is called the „BLIND SELF‟ personality. All personalities are „BLIND‟ during childhood when elders encourage them by saying, “If you study hard, you can come first in your class”.  HIDDEN SELF -When a person „knows‟ but, is unwilling to share due to shyness, uncertainty or a lack of confidence, such a personality is called the „HIDEN SELF‟.  UNKNOWN SELF -When a person comes and goes from this world without making conscious and constructive interpersonal relations, such a personality is called „UNKNOWN SELF‟. Neither the person or others know the personality.
