Introduction <ul><li>No matter how athletic a person is, we are all prone to injuries </li></ul><ul><li>All bones and muscles in the body are prone to break or tear if proper methods are not taken </li></ul><ul><li>Injuries are painful and most of the time when proper techniques are followed they can be avoided </li></ul>
  3. 3. Frequent Holistic Sports Injuries <ul><li>Not Warming up Properly </li></ul><ul><li>Improper eating or nutrition intake </li></ul><ul><li>Lacking judgment of your limits </li></ul><ul><li>Overdoing, pushing past limits to hard or too long </li></ul>

Osgood-Schlatter Syndrome <ul><li>Sometimes referred to as osterochondritis disease </li></ul><ul><li>The ossification of the centers of bones in children </li></ul><ul><li>More common in males </li></ul><ul><li>The bones lengthen and if overused the can become inflamed and cause pain </li></ul>

Anterior Cruciate Ligament  The knee joint showing a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. <ul><li>Common Knee Injury </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Twisting force applied to bones </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Can also be from a direct blow to the knee </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>This injury can happen in sports such as football, rugby </li></ul></ul><ul><li>This type of injury can be serious and must be treated with caution using the R.I.C.E. principle </li></ul>
