A Skirt is a type of garment that covers one’s lower half of body. It
hangs from the waist and can be of any length of legs. Skirts can be
made out of a single piece of material. But most of the skirts are
introduced with dart, gores, pleats or panels to create a different
look. The selection can vary upon the social context, fashion and
cultural conception of modesty.

Evolution of Skirt
• Skirts are one of the oldest
styles of garment known to man
kind which comprised of a
rectangular piece of material,
animal skin or leaves woven
together, wrapped around the
waist, the skirt was created.
• Ancient art shows remarkably
"manly" men in skirts. But as
time passed, it was women who
became known for wearing skirts
with few exceptions like
Scotsmen, who still wear their
