Food inflation continues to accelerate<br />The food inflation continued to accelerate in the year to September 11, maintaining expectations of another rate hike by the year end. <br />The food price index rose an annual 15.46 per cent in the week to September 11, compared with 15.10 per cent a week ago.   3. 3. PM to launch UID scheme on Sep 29<br />Under the scheme, a 12-digit unique number will be provided to every citizen of the country. As per the plan, the number will be given to 100 million people by the end of the current financial year and cover around 600 million Indians by 2014.<br />The programme is being overseen by the Unique Identity Development Authority of India (UIDAI), which was set up in June 2009 and is headed by Infosys Technologies Ltd co-founder NandanNilekani. <br />(http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/6614801.cms)<br />
