  1. 1. Using Mimio Studio Software A Beginners Guide to basic icon identification
  2. 2. The Mimio Studio tool bars have icons that are very similar to others in common software applications. The word indicators, file, edit, view etc. provide the same actions as other programs with these commands. The row below from right to left the icons are • Open – signifying open a file • Save - providing the save option • Print – access to the print option • Cut - cut an item • Copy – copy an item to the clipboard • Paste – paste an item that has been cut or copied • X - the delete option allowing you to delete a created item
  3. 3. The left half of the tool bar has the following icons. • Undo • Redo • + indicating new page • + indicating new activity • Left arrow – go back to previous page • Right arrow – advance to next page • Magnify – zoom out • Shrink – zoom in • Zoom full • Full screen
  4. 4. The new activity icon allows the user to build an activity from the activity content engine in the software. An example of that activity is shown at left. There are a number of styles and subjects in the activity generator. We will delve into this at more length in another segment.

From left clockwise • The arrow indicating the pointer allowing you to choose and item • Magnifying glass • Text tool • Shape chooser tool • Insert tool (for pictures and files) • Object fill (filling the inside of an object • Color picker (allowing a custom color to be picked) • Eraser • Highlighter • Pen
  6. 6. Here are 2 views of the tool bar. The left shows the shape tool bar activated with the options for line style and different types of shapes. The right shows the active tool bar when a shape is chosen. You can choose fill and outline color. • Outline and fill • Line thickness for pen, highlighter and eraser icons • Color palette • Line style • Transparency • Applications (activate other Mimio components and features) • Interactive • Annotate • Mouse (turn style into an active mouse) • Right click • Gallery (access content)
  7. 7. In the color palette you have a large range to choose from. You can also create custom colors. The colors can be applied to shapes, text, lines, backgrounds, transparency and highlighting in Mimio Studio.
  8. 8. The Gallery icon allows the user access to gallery content. Preloaded content that comes with your Mimio Studio software is accessible, screen annotations from your own work and any custom content that you load is accessed here. Content is key word searchable. For purposes of this orientation we will delve into the gallery more in depth in our next training segment. Icons along the top are • New folder • Insert file • Copy • Paste • Delete • Import content • Export content
  9. 9. This presentation is designed to familiarize the Mimio Studio user with the names of the icons and in some cases the basic functions. The more common icons perform much the same as they would in other programs. There are more specialized icons with in both tool bars in the software. Those functions and specifics will be revisited and explored more in depth in an upcoming segment.
