  1. 1. INDOOR POSITIONING SYSTEM USING ULTRASONIC Abstract: This project describe about the Indoor Positioning System is a system in which we can locate the position of an object in an indoor environment utilizing ultrasonic waves generated by narrow directional ultrasonic transmitter. To achieve the objective of position detection, we have designed ultrasonic transmitter and receiver circuits, RF transmitter, and receiver for synchronization purposes. An RFID reader is a device that is used to interrogate an RFID tag. The reader has an antenna that emits radio waves; the tag responds by sending back its data. An RFID tag is a microchip combined with an antenna in a compact package; the packaging is structured to allow the RFID tag to be attached to an object to be tracked. "RFID" stands for Radio Frequency Identification. The tag's antenna picks up signals from an RFID reader or scanner and then returns the signal, usually with some additional data (like a unique serial number or other customized information). Existing System: The Indoor positioning system which does not need GPS and it need satellite signal to detect. The positioning system for indoor purpose is not designed. The method of design using GPS is having limited intelligence. So we go to our proposed system. Proposed System: This system involves the design of Robot design system which consists of ultrasonic sensor, RFID reader and LCD. Here we are using ultrasonic sensor to detect the obstacle. The RFID tag is fixed in the floor based on that the robot will read the tag number and show the status in the LCD. The robot position will not be change if it change the ultrasonic will sense the obstacle in environment and stop the movement.
