About Round Table <ul><li>An organization of non-political and non-sectarian young men between the age group of 18 and 40. </li></ul><ul><li>The aim of the young men is to promote service, fellowship and goodwill in National and International affairs. </li></ul><ul><li>Round Table has grown to 43,000 members across 52 countries representing every corner of the world. </li></ul>

Round Table India <ul><li>Round Tabling came to India in 1957 </li></ul><ul><li>2600 member strong association </li></ul><ul><li>190 Tables across 72 cities and towns, comprising of businessmen, entrepreneurs, technocrats and professionals. </li></ul><ul><li>Motto - “Service Through Fellowship” </li></ul>

Community Service Projects <ul><li>Blood Typing - 1992 - </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Enlisted over 30000 Blood Donors across the country. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Operation Thirst - 1993 - </li></ul><ul><ul><li>To provide drinking water source to village people by sinking over 500 bore wells at a cost of over Rs.10 Million. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>AIDS Awareness - 1994. </li></ul>

  11. 11. Kargil Fund <ul><li>Round Table India performed its National duty when it collected and handed over a sum of Rs.5.1 Million to the Prime Minister towards the Kargil Fund. </li></ul>

  13. 13. Latur Earthquake - 1993 <ul><li>During the earthquake in Latur in 1993, RTI moved relief material within 24 hours to the earthquake hit villages. </li></ul><ul><li>Constructed a Community Welfare Centre in Latur </li></ul>

Orissa Cyclone – 1999-2000 <ul><li>RTI launched &quot;Operation Sadhbhavana“ </li></ul><ul><li>Construction of 4 schools at a cost of Rs. 2 Million by the Tables in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. </li></ul><ul><li>RTI tied up with NOVIB of Netherlands and Centre for Youth Social Development to construct 15 schools at a cost of Rs.13 Million all over Orissa. </li></ul>

Gujarat Earthquake -2001 <ul><li>Moved Relief Material from all over India </li></ul><ul><li>Constructed 14 school buildings at a cost of over Rs. 28 Million in Kutch and Surendarnagar districts of Gujarat. </li></ul><ul><li>Azim Premji Foundation has contributed a sum of Rs. 8 Million towards this initiative. </li></ul>

Tsunami Relief <ul><li>RTI is recognised by Govt. of Tamil Nadu as one of the 8 NGOs taking up rehabilitation work in Tsunami affected areas. </li></ul><ul><li>A total of 120 primary schools were taken up by RTI for complete reconstruction at a cost of 60 Million Rupees – completed in June 2006 </li></ul><ul><ul><li>RTI also provided boats, fishing nets and other accessories to the affected fishermen. </li></ul></ul>

RTI Funding Features <ul><li>Per-capita expenditure on projects of Round Table India is Rs. 50,000/-, possibly the highest amongst all service organizations in India. </li></ul><ul><li>Round Table India is a Zero Overhead organization – in effect, 100% of funds go towards the charities </li></ul><ul><li>Donations in India receive IT benefit under Section 80G </li></ul>
