2. From July, 2010 . . . . .

4. Asbestos was found
under
the old, ruined floor.
The Church was sealed, and
after the asbestos abatement,
re-construction began in
earnest.

5. THE FLOOR . . .

6. Under the floor, the heating pipes
had been leaking for years.

7. Causing the concrete floor to
crack and break apart.

12. THE PILLARS

13. While saw-cutting the cement floor
to make the repairs . . .

14. . . . it was discovered that the pillars
were rotting . . .

15. . . . from years of wicking
moisture from the ground
beneath.

16. Had it not been for last winter’s
flood this would not have been
discovered.

17. The pillars were propped up . . .

19. and reinforced with a specially
manufactured metal “shoe”.

23. The Altar area has been raised . . .

24. . . . and enlarged . . .

25. . . . resulting in greatly improved
lines of sight.

26. It has new access . . .

30. . . . and a new storage area.

32. The former doors to the sacristy
and work room were bricked in . .

33. for an overall cleaner effect.

42. The bricks removed from the cry room
wall were used to fill in the former
entrances to the sacristy and
workroom.
