Wikis, blogs, and web publishings final presentation

 1. 1. Wikis, Blogs, and Web Publishings Final Presentation Ariel Vargas 10/31/11
 2. 2. 1. Which tool have you found most useful?

Well, it hasn’t proven to be that useful yet but I believe that my blog will be the most useful. I would love to get the students blogging in Spanish with other people from around the world. If they could blog something that gets a comment from someone in Spain. That would be AWESOME.

 3. 3. 2. Explain some successes and challenges you have had.

One of the challenges that I had to get use to was not having the face to face time to ask any questions on how to do things that I was having trouble with.

One of the many successes that I enjoyed was leaning about RSS. I didn’t know such a thing existed. In the past I would go thru my list of websites that I checked every time I went on the internet but now I can consolidate some of them into iGoogle.

 4. 4. 3. What is your take on Moodle and online learning?

I have to say although it can be challenging sometimes, I really like it. I have gotten more out of this class then any Bob Randell or Gratz course I have ever taken. They may be two weekends and done but they never really gave me anything useful that I was excited to use in the classroom. The use of blogs to communicate with people from all around the world is the new Pen Pal for the classroom. I am excited about trying to integrate some of these tools to supplement my teaching.

 5. 5. 4. Share the collection of your work in your presentation.

My collection of work includes:

My wiki

My RSS

My Blog

My Glogsters

 6. 6. My Wiki- SpanishwithVargas

My Wiki can be found at http:spanishwithvargas.wikispaces.com .

It has two pages. The home page is still a work in progress but developing it and making it better is half the fun.

The second page is for my classroom students. It has important information that they could use, like directions to the online textbook, homework, upcoming events, and contact info.

 7. 7. My RSS

My igoogle is the only thing that I didn’t make 100% for school. It includes some Spanish things but it is mostly for my personal use. Having so much on one page does save me the time I uses to spend going to different sites.

 8. 8. My Blog

I decided to write my blog in Spanish. I am hoping to get some fellow bloggers that write in Spanish so my class can practice reading and writing in Spanish.

 9. 9. My Glogster

I made two Glogster posters. The 1 st was embedded on to my wiki as the home page. The 2 nd is linked to a question on my home page, with 21 links to informational sites of Spanish speaking countries.
