wondering and EXCITED about what is to come over the
next 2-weeks!

Step 0: Create Copy
Before you start your Facebook live you need to type something out!
Our recommendation: Breaking news everyone! I am doing something really unique that I will be
releasing in the coming weeks… Listen in!
Figure out your copy and write it
down in your workbook.

Step 1: Pattern Interrupt (3-5 Seconds):
When you first start your Facebook live do something unique that will get people attention.
Your initial live audience won't see it... but it will capture the attention of the replay visitors. Good
pattern interrupts include the following and last for about 3 - 5 seconds.
● Jumping around suddenly.
● Doing jumping jacks right when the Facebook live starts.
● Showing a crazy funny picture of a cat. (Click here for one)
● Showing crazy photos of just about anything (Click here for another)

Step 2: Introduction / The Hook 20 - 60 Seconds:
Now that you have everyone's attention, it is time invite other friends to join your Facebook live,
ask for likes, and explain what you are going to share over and over for 20 - 60 seconds using the
most excited voice you can!
Basically, just keep saying the same thing over and over and invite friends via the app.
Hey everyone... Give me some likes and love! Hey Shellie! I am doing this Facebook live because I am going to be
launching this really cool thing designed for students in the next couple weeks... and I am going to be sharing
some secrets about what is about along the way. Hey Tom, and Sarah! Give me some likes and love! I am so
excited to be doing this... it is going to be really cool. I have some good ideas. I know you probably want to know
but I haven't completed it yet so I don't want to ruin the surprise. Hey John and Kattie… f you are just joining
please give me some likes and love But I promise if you have a student you are going to love it! "

Step 3: The Content / Story 3 - 8 Minutes:
As people start joining your Facebook live, share your story and why you are doing what you are
doing... without giving away the surprise. People love stories and gravitate toward them. Share
yours with them!
What To Include In Your Story:
Explain to your audience why you got into teaching and why you love working with students. Tell
them a particular story about a student who struggled with a subject, but after working with them
they lit up. The goal here is for your audience to connect to you. Everyone has ups and downs!
Share your ups and downs, plus what you learned from it and why you are committed to what
you’re doing.

Story Format:
The Start:
● Hey everyone! So I want to share with you why I get into teaching! I was in college and….
The Struggle:
● I finally reached it and I was 24 years old first day in the classroom… and I had a student that made my life so hard… I
questioned everyone… the pay wasn’t that great, the student and parent was giving me issues…. why did I decide to go
down this route. Maybe I should have become an engineer, etc.
The Triumph:
● But then there was this one study her name was Sherrie. She hated school… but she was so cute. We worked together and
she developed the reading skills she needed, she started loving learning... her life was changed. Then I remembered exactly
why I was doing what I was doing.

Step 4: Call To Action 20 - 60 Seconds:
Now that your audience has heard your story, connect it to what you are doing and provide a
clear action that promotes engagement with your audience.
Connect Story To Call To Action:
So…because I love helping students so much… I have decided to provide something of very
unique value in the coming weeks.

Go through your Facebook and Linkedin looking for anyone who might be
interested. Don’t have their email? Scrap it from LinkedIn using Skrapp.
Worked with a past student’s parent but don’t know their email? Scrap it from
LinkedIn.
Email Everyone!
Grab your Facebook live video URL and link it out in your email.
Other Ideas
Get the message out in any other way you can think of!
Twitter, word of mouth, etc.
You need to start a buzz within your network that you are up to something
unique… something they want to be part of!

Lesson # 1: Build Anticipation

  • 2. Facebook Live Grab your phone right now and start a Facebook live video while following this process! Unscripted works better than scripted! The entire goal is to invoke curiosity... Get your audience wondering and EXCITED about what is to come over the next 2-weeks!
  • 3. Facebook Live Structure Step 0: Create Copy Before you start your Facebook live you need to type something out! Our recommendation: Breaking news everyone! I am doing something really unique that I will be releasing in the coming weeks… Listen in! Figure out your copy and write it down in your workbook.
  • 4. Facebook Live Structure Step 1: Pattern Interrupt (3-5 Seconds): When you first start your Facebook live do something unique that will get people attention. Your initial live audience won't see it... but it will capture the attention of the replay visitors. Good pattern interrupts include the following and last for about 3 - 5 seconds. ● Jumping around suddenly. ● Doing jumping jacks right when the Facebook live starts. ● Showing a crazy funny picture of a cat. (Click here for one) ● Showing crazy photos of just about anything (Click here for another) Figure out your pattern interrupt and right it down in your workbook.

Facebook Live Structure Step 2: Introduction / The Hook 20 - 60 Seconds: Now that you have everyone's attention, it is time invite other friends to join your Facebook live, ask for likes, and explain what you are going to share over and over for 20 - 60 seconds using the most excited voice you can! Basically, just keep saying the same thing over and over and invite friends via the app. Hey everyone... Give me some likes and love! Hey Shellie! I am doing this Facebook live because I am going to be launching this really cool thing designed for students in the next couple weeks... and I am going to be sharing some secrets about what is about along the way. Hey Tom, and Sarah! Give me some likes and love! I am so excited to be doing this... it is going to be really cool. I have some good ideas. I know you probably want to know but I haven't completed it yet so I don't want to ruin the surprise. Hey John and Kattie… f you are just joining please give me some likes and love But I promise if you have a student you are going to love it! " Figure out introduction / hook and write it down in your workbook.
  • 6. Facebook Live Structure Invite everyone as you ramble… letting them it it is going to start soon. As people come on make sure to say hi to them and ask them to give you some likes!
  • 7. Facebook Live Structure Step 3: The Content / Story 3 - 8 Minutes: As people start joining your Facebook live, share your story and why you are doing what you are doing... without giving away the surprise. People love stories and gravitate toward them. Share yours with them! What To Include In Your Story: Explain to your audience why you got into teaching and why you love working with students. Tell them a particular story about a student who struggled with a subject, but after working with them they lit up. The goal here is for your audience to connect to you. Everyone has ups and downs! Share your ups and downs, plus what you learned from it and why you are committed to what you’re doing. Figure out your story and write it down in your workbook.
  • 8. Facebook Live Structure Story Format: The Start: ● Hey everyone! So I want to share with you why I get into teaching! I was in college and…. The Struggle: ● I finally reached it and I was 24 years old first day in the classroom… and I had a student that made my life so hard… I questioned everyone… the pay wasn’t that great, the student and parent was giving me issues…. why did I decide to go down this route. Maybe I should have become an engineer, etc. The Triumph: ● But then there was this one study her name was Sherrie. She hated school… but she was so cute. We worked together and she developed the reading skills she needed, she started loving learning... her life was changed. Then I remembered exactly why I was doing what I was doing. Figure out your story and write it down in your workbook.
  • 9. Facebook Live Structure Step 4: Call To Action 20 - 60 Seconds: Now that your audience has heard your story, connect it to what you are doing and provide a clear action that promotes engagement with your audience. Connect Story To Call To Action: So…because I love helping students so much… I have decided to provide something of very unique value in the coming weeks. Provide Call To Action: I will be sharing more in about a week. If you are interested in following my journey, please comment below sharing how you resonate with my story! Figure out your call to action and write it down in your workbook.
  • 10. Instagram Post Now do something similar on Instagram. Find a photo of you teaching a student and post it sharing that you are up to something unique and can’t wait to share! Change them as needed..
  • 11. Email Everyone! Create an excel spreadsheet and start putting down every single email you can possibly think of an find that you think would resonate with your message. ● Close Friends ● Past Parents ● Other Teachers ● Etc.
  • 12. Email Everyone! Go through your Facebook and Linkedin looking for anyone who might be interested. Don’t have their email? Scrap it from LinkedIn using Skrapp. Worked with a past student’s parent but don’t know their email? Scrap it from LinkedIn.
  • 13. Email Everyone! Grab your Facebook live video URL and link it out in your email.
  • 14. Other Ideas Get the message out in any other way you can think of! Twitter, word of mouth, etc. You need to start a buzz within your network that you are up to something unique… something they want to be part of!
