I’ll explain why it’s needed, what type of vision it requires, how that vision will be realized and what the outcomes will be. One of our strengths is a broad group of collaborators that are dedicated to student success. We welcome you to join them.
5000 STEM Student at PSU must figure out a way to succeed in the face of many challenges: Lack of assessment, inadequate advising, high risk courses, needed academic support, better interdepartmental communication, lack of understanding of the activities of scientists and engineers.
A STEM Student Center would examine these challenges and find innovative ways to address them

STEM Student Center houses comprehensive and integrated resources, activities, and experiences – this affords a RELEVANT and TIMELY database of outcomes that drives ongoing improvement

STEM Student Success is CENTRAL. Example: A new or transfer student is introduced to the STEM community, is assessed and advised, if meeting an obstacle, intervention occurs along with support, and once academic success is in place, the STEM student is provided a research opportunity or internship that complements the STEM discipline.
