2. Listen up kids we got something to say
It’ll take 5 minutes then we’re on our way
We don’t want to preach & we don’t want push it
But time is money so we’re gonna have to rush it!
3. During the day we’re surrounded by books
And all of you come in to take a look
We really like to hear about the things you’ve read
So come on and tell us what’s in your head!
4. We’ve got scary tales, fairy tales and ones to make
you laugh
Picture books and rhymes and some just plain daft
Mrs Potter’s Pigling was certainly not bland
Listen to his song and clap your hands . . .
5. Tom, Tom the piper’s son
Stole a pig and away he ran
And the only tune that he could play
Was over the hills and far away
6. Remember Eco-Wolf and who made him sad
Yes, Greedypig, Grabbit and Megadad!
And something else that’s just the ticket
The Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snickett
7. So come to the Library when you’ve got time
And take a look a Roald’s Revolting Rhymes
Or read the tale of Dr Seuss’ Cat
You know the one that likes to wear a hat!
8. You may be surprised and you may be shocked
To know that the teachers like to rap a lot
Miss Garland and Townsend too
Are the rapping heads of the Key Stage Crew!
9. And did you know Mrs Aisher and Beedham
Organise a regular Poetry Slam!
And Mr Williams has his own Possay
Lloyd, Barnes, Waller and MC McCrae!
10. So come on now and write us a poem
Just think of the words and get them flowing
And if you fancy turn up the heat
Call it a rap song and dance to the beat!
11. So it’s goodbye from me, MC B
And also from me, DJ WP
We’ll be back again some other time
So until then don’t forget to Rhythm and Rhyme!
