Dosh – About Us <ul><li>Dosh has been set up to provide financial </li></ul><ul><li>advocacy support </li></ul><ul><li>Dosh helps people with a learning </li></ul><ul><li>disability to be more independent and </li></ul><ul><li>have more control over their own money </li></ul><ul><li>Dosh is set up as a not-profit company. </li></ul><ul><li>This means that all money earned by the </li></ul><ul><li>company is used to run the business and </li></ul><ul><li>provide good quality financial support to </li></ul><ul><li>people with a learning disability </li></ul>

Dosh - Aims <ul><li>Strategic Aims: </li></ul><ul><li>To engage with and value our customers so we are the preferred choice for Financial Advocacy and Appointeeship for people with learning disabilities </li></ul><ul><li>To build and maintain strong financial foundations and systems that ensure added value for our customers, while ensuring financial stability for Dosh </li></ul><ul><li>To develop our range of products and services to meet the needs of our customers and the personalisation agenda </li></ul><ul><li>To develop our response times for customer requests and demands which will meet our Key Performance Indicators </li></ul><ul><li>To develop the role of Financial Advocacy </li></ul>

What Dosh Financial Advocacy do: <ul><li>Develop personal budgets and money plans and helping people work through them. </li></ul><ul><li>Support people to learn new skills and understand money concepts </li></ul><ul><li>Join a person’s circle of support </li></ul><ul><li>Support people with and provide account management for their Individual Budget or Individual Support Fund or Direct Payment </li></ul><ul><li>Do a welfare benefits assessments in someone’s home </li></ul><ul><li>Offering the support needed for the person to manage their own benefits </li></ul><ul><li>Checking people’s money is safe </li></ul><ul><li>Support the person to open a bank account and set up payments </li></ul><ul><li>Becoming a ‘person centred’ appointee ensuring all decisions are made with them in line with the MCA </li></ul>

Dosh works in partnership with other Care and Support Providers <ul><li>Dosh is an independent company </li></ul><ul><li>within the Thera Group. </li></ul><ul><li>Dosh can continue to provide financial </li></ul><ul><li>support when a Thera Company no longer </li></ul><ul><li>provides a person’s care and support </li></ul><ul><li>Currently we work in partnership with </li></ul><ul><li>8 x care and support providers </li></ul><ul><li>Dosh also works in partnership with local authorities, PCTs and families </li></ul>

Dosh - how we work <ul><li>To give you an idea of the services Dosh would be able to provide through a Person Centred Appointeeship, I have listed the following: </li></ul><ul><li>The administration and claiming of individual’s benefits </li></ul><ul><li>Appealing Benefit decisions if required </li></ul><ul><li>Welfare Benefit Assessments </li></ul><ul><li>Liaison with the previous customers Appointee to relinquish and start appointeeship </li></ul><ul><li>Access to Dosh suite of Assessment and Money Plan forms such as Money Plans </li></ul><ul><li>Access to Internet Banking – Bacs payments </li></ul><ul><li>Best Interest Decision form and process – coordination for major purchases </li></ul><ul><li>(if people do not already have bank accounts) Individual Dosh (Barclays) bank accounts </li></ul><ul><li>Support with Direct Debits and Standing Orders for their utility bills </li></ul><ul><li>Assistance with Fairer Charging assessments </li></ul><ul><li>To be a member of the customer’s Circle of Support   </li></ul><ul><li>A ‘Named Person’ (a local representative that is both a Financial Advocate and carries out the role of Appointee) </li></ul><ul><li>A local Dosh representative (attending reviews, meeting with Circles of Support, responding to emergencies which require a personalised quick response) </li></ul><ul><li>Dosh’s MD - I am involved in clearing Best Interest Decisions, authorisation of internet bank payments etc </li></ul><ul><li>Dosh Financial Administrator and Dosh Administrators who provide back office support for our customers </li></ul><ul><li>Internet Banking facilities and Docuware – electronic administrative software </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>

Dosh - how we monitor our performance <ul><li>Key Performance Indicators – each team member including the MD has a set of KPIs they report on to the Dosh Board and other stakeholders </li></ul><ul><li>An annual internal audit by independent auditors </li></ul><ul><li>An annual external audit by independent auditors </li></ul><ul><li>Dosh Business Plan – Strategic Aims and Objectives </li></ul><ul><li>Dosh Spreadsheets which record our performance for Bank Statements, Benefit notifications, Payments and Best Interest Decisions (BIDs) </li></ul><ul><li>Customer Feedback – Meetings and Presentations </li></ul>
