  2. 2. Community Friendship Dinners 2015 A welcome is extended to members of the community to meet in a warm and friendly atmosphere and enjoy a wonderful dinner. This is a great opportunity to mix with old friends and meet new ones. Children welcome. Please see the poster outside the main office for more information.

Simcoe County Sliders Sledge hockey team is looking for an on ice volunteer to help with practices which are held at the Stayner arena on Saturdays from 2:30 – 3:30 The student must like working with kids, have an ability to skate and have a hockey helmet.   4. 4. Congratulations to all teams that competed on Day One of the Dodgeball Tournament yesterday. The action continues today with a full slate of games featuring Team 1 vs Team 5 and Team 3 vs the Staff at 11 am, followed by Team 1 vs the Staff and Team 2 vs Team 5 at 11:20 am. Fans are welcome to come out and watch but we ask that you keep all food and drink outside the gym. See You at Lunch!

  9. 9. Good morning Spartans! The SCI Varsity Boys' Soccer season came to an end yesterday after a 1-0 loss to Nouvelle Alliance in the SCAA semi-final match. The boys played hard and left everything on the field giving it their all until the final whistle, but we just couldn't get the goal we needed. We saw huge improvements in many individual players and lots of team development over the course of this season. Congratulations on your successes boys, you should be proud of all you accomplished! Thanks for your commitment to the team and special thanks to coaches McNea and Culham for all of your work this season. When you see them around the school, please congratulate the following team members on their success: Peter Parsons, Ben Taylor, Griffin Carruthers, Oliver Coombs, Jacob Day, Ryoji Fusegi, Ryan Michalchuck, Tate Millsap, co-captain Gavin Proud, co-captain Jake Underhill, Matt Robinson, Beaner Rowbotham, James Grant, Jordan Taylor, Josh DeWitt and Theron Houle.
  10. 10. This week- October 19-23rd, is National Waste reduction week. As a leader in this area for environmental education the SHSM program is challenging the rest of the school, to reduce the waste it is generating. Bring a litter-less lunch, use a re-usable water bottle, car pool or use active transportation. If we all do one small thing, it makes a huge difference to the environment of SCI. Come On Spartans, we can make a difference!

  14. 14. REMINDER FROM OUR SCHOOL’S OFFICER, CONSTABLE CHRIS Drinking and driving or being high while driving is against the law. Getting caught could mean a criminal record and that might impact which school you attend after SCI. A criminal record can also affect both summer and full time employment and where you can travel.
  15. 15. Texting and driving is not only against the law , it is very dangerous. Texting, talking, even just holding your smart phone in your hand can result in a fine of $490!!!
