Last June 2013, the Local Social Welfare and Development conducted the Municipal Transition Planning - Part I wherein they invited every sectors in the community whether Non-Government Organizations [NGO's] such as the Kasilak Foundation, Cantilan Bank, etc. and Government Agencies such as the DepEd, PNP, LGU, TESDA, SSDSU, etc. The different organizations were also requested to prepare and present their own reports and contributions on the Impact of 4P's.

  2. 2. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT • Tagbina II District is a newly separated district from Tagbina I of this municipality last February 2009. This baby district is headed by dynamic, workaholic and motherly Schools District Supervisor, Mme. Wilma A. Premarion. • The schools district has fifteen (15) elementary schools wherein two (2) are still primary schools, two (2) are integrated schools and one (1) central school which is also an Accredited Philippine Public Elementary School [APPES].   3. 3. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT Cont. • Tagbina II District Office is located inside the Sta. Juana Central Elementary School premises – Sta. Juana, Tagbina Surigao del Sur. It is a twenty (20) minute ride or about fourteen (14) kilometers from this barangay Poblacion. • Sta. Maria Integrated School has the most number of teachers and learners while Kinagbangan Primary School has the smallest number of teachers and learners.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT Cont. • This is followed by Hinagdanan Elementary School with a distance of twenty-for (24) kilometers and Jobar Integrated School with a distance of sixteen (16) kilometers. • In terms of distance from the district office, Greenfield Elementary School is the farthest with a distance of thirty-five (35) kilometers.

Rita Elem. School and Jobar Integrated School. Furthermore, Barangay Sta. Juana has the most number of sitio schools consisting of three (3) schools.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT Now, all the schools in Tagbina II District no matter how big or small, far or near, sitio or barangay, primary or integrated are working together in providing qualitative services and utmost support for this fruitfull and meaningful program of our government , Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4P’s. Moreover, the teachers and school heads are the front liners in providing the basic services to the parents and pupils / students beneficiaries like conducting advocacy and orientation, keeping the records, monitoring the enrolment or attendances,

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT Cont. and verifying their status in order to ensure that they are still enrolled in the school and have complied with the conditions set forth in this program. Example, when it comes to the attendance of the school children; • Children 3 to 5 years old enrolled in Day Care or Kindergarten with 85% class attendance/month • Children 6 to 14 enrolled in elementary and high school with 85% class attendance/month

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT The daily checking of attendance by the Tagbina II District Teachers using their school registers [DepEd - Form 1] is just only one of the few services provided by them to the beneficiaries in support of this program. Indeed, they are doing this with certain accuracy and caution especially in accomplishing the Compliance Verification Form 2 – CVF-2 wherein it will be double- checked also by the school heads before certifying.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT A. the learners The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program is no doubt plays a significant role in reenergizing the batteries of our Philippine Educational System. Since its implementation in 2008, the enrolment and daily attendance are greatly increasing compared to those years prior to the implementation of this program.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT The Data on Drop Out Rate and Promotion Rate prove also to us that this program aside from encouraging the Tagbina II District learners to enroll in their respective schools, it also help them to continue and perhaps, finish their studies with this Enhance K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.

TEACHERS AND SCHOOLHEADS Indeed, the teachers and school heads of Tagbina II District really appreciate the significance of this program as strong partner in guiding the hearts, teaching the minds and transforming lives of the learners. One of the teacher stated that because of this program, it makes her profession even more meaningful.
  18. 18. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT Even the Schools District Supervisor, Mme. Wilma A. Premarion and the School Heads are very much supportive in this 4P’s program. Indeed, Mme. Premarion conducted a District Re-Orientation last October 2012 wherein her first order of business is to remind the teachers the attributes and significance of this Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program. Furthermore, she wanted also to refresh their knowledge with regards to their duties and responsibilities in providing qualitative services to the beneficiaries in both the parents and the learners. As the result, there are no teachers or even school heads in Tagbina II District have been reported in the Pantawid Office for being rude, disrespectful or even involved in collecting anomalous contributions to the beneficiaries.

The Curriculum With the huge number of enrollment and daily attendance of the learners particularly in the elementary level as the result of this program, Tagbina II District ensures the optimum learnings of the pupils in the five (5) core subjects and without wasting much of the time, money, programs and projects of our government. .

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT Indeed, one of the school head even disclosed the importance of 4P’s in our educational system by saying that “If Education is the backbone of our country then, 4P’s is the backbone of Education.” For according to him, what is the purpose of having competent teachers, conducive classrooms, enhance curriculum, etc. if there are only few learners who come to school.

The parents esp. the mothers are now becoming more participative in the different activities in the school such as PTA meetings, seminars, celebra tions, programs, Brigada Eskwela and many others. D. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT The teachers and school heads are always ready to assist and guide the parents especially the mothers like getting of Certificate of Enrolment for their school children. Most of the school heads also observe that they are already frequently visiting the school for various reasons and also, well acquainted about the protocols in the school office.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TAGBINA II DISTRICT Such manifestations are clear indications that the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program [4P’s] here in Tagbina II District is very much successful in empowering the women in their respective school communities. As the 4P’s program still continues, they are becoming more and more responsible and knowledgeable on their rights as the modern Maria Clara in our society.
