  • This presentation should not be used as a serious reference for WWII, for more than a few reasons.

    1. Putting Brazil and Belgium on the same level as Canada and Australia is ridiculous.
    2. The Battle of Britain was over well before May 1941.
    3. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of the war were not major battles.
    4. D-Day was not an all-American operation. It was largely a British operation, with the Americans and Canadians in secondary roles.
    5. D-Day should not be called 'the' turning point for the allies.
    6. The Americans (and British, and Canadians, and Australians, and Indians) were fighting Japan well before VE day.

    This is a rather simplistic report on WWII. It's very clear that little or no research went into it.

  3. 3. Allies <ul><li>The 3 major Allies of WWII were </li></ul><ul><li>the United States, Soviet Union, and </li></ul><ul><li>the United Kingdom. </li></ul><ul><li>There were also many minor allies, such as France, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada and many others. </li></ul>Quit
  4. 4. Axis <ul><li>Axis were those who fought against the three major allies. </li></ul><ul><li>The three axis countries were Germany, Italy and Japan. </li></ul><ul><li>We fought the German Nazi and the we fought Japan because they attacked Pearl Harbor </li></ul>Quit

Pearl Harbor <ul><li>Japan attacked pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 </li></ul><ul><li>The first attack was at 7:53am and the second was at 8:55am </li></ul><ul><li>2,403 people were killed </li></ul><ul><li>One bomb hit the USS Arizona. It caused the ship to explode and sink, killing 1300 Americans </li></ul><ul><li>3 hours after the attack Japan Attacked American stations in the Philippians </li></ul>Quit

It was an air battle and it lasted from July 1940 to May 1941. </li></ul><ul><li>Two of the other major battles were at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the united states dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki on August 9,1945 which ended the war </li></ul>Quit
  7. 7. D-Day <ul><li>D-Day was the day that the Americans invaded Normandy France, with thousands of ships, tanks and troops. </li></ul><ul><li>This attack was on the western front of the war and was the turning point for the allies </li></ul>Quit
  8. 8. Victory in Europe <ul><li>Victory for the allies in Europe came on Tuesday May 8, 1945. this is known as VE day. </li></ul><ul><li>Victory in Europe made it possible for the Americans to fight Japan. </li></ul>Quit

The Holocaust <ul><li>The Germans Killed Millions of people during WWII. </li></ul><ul><li>6 Million Jews were killed </li></ul><ul><li>Other people who were persecuted included, Gypsies, Slavic people, poles, Russians, communists, socialists, and Jehovah's witnesses. </li></ul><ul><li>3 million Soviet Prisoners of war were killed as well. </li></ul>Quit
  10. 10. More Holocaust <ul><li>By the year 1945 2 out of every 3 Jews in Europe were killed </li></ul><ul><li>After the war between the years of 1948 and 1951the Jewish people moved. 700,00 emigrated to Israel, some stayed in Europe and some moved to the United States </li></ul>Quit
