  11. 11. Microscopy • Pathognomic – Coagulative necrosis ( all organs) • Cerebral infarcts – Liquefactive necrosis • Periphery of the infarct- Inflammatory reaction noted • Generally infarct replaced by fibrous tissue • Cerebral infarct – Gliosis ( replacement by microglial cells)
