  11. 11. Section 504 regulation requires a school districtto provide a “free appropriate public education”(FAPE) to each qualified person with a disabilitywho is in the school district’s jurisdiction,regardless of the nature or severity of theperson’s disability.
  12. 12. Section 504 protects qualified individuals withdisabilities. Under this law, individuals withdisabilities are defined as persons with aphysical or mental impairment whichsubstantially limits one or more major life activities.
