Cambodia • Operational since: 1993 • Implementing agency: GDA – MAFF • Partners: PDAs, International and local NGOs (e.g., Handicap International, CEDAC, etc.) • FFS implemented: >7,500 FFS • Farmers trained: 150,000 farmers (30% ♀) • Trainers active: 500 Government (40 % ♀); 2,700 Farmers (35% ♀)

Lao PDR • Implementing agency: PPC – DOA, PAFO, DAFO • Crop focus: rice, vegetables, fruits • Current focus: Community Education for Pesticide Risk Reduction • Active in Sayabouly, Phongsaly, LuangNamtha, Oudomxay, Xiengkhouang, Vientiane Province & Capital, Champasak • Partners: International and local NGOs (e.g., Oxfam Belgium, SEARICE, Field Alliance, NALDE, SAEDA) • FFS implemented: 793 • Farmers trained: 23,615 (14% ♀)

Vietnam • Operational since: 1992 • Implementing agency: PPD – MARD • Partners: Universities, mass organizations, International and local NGOs (e.g., Oxfam, SCF, CARE, World Vision, etc.) • FFS implemented: 37,752 • Farmers trained: 1,132,654 (40 %♀) • Trainers active: 2,546 Government (43 % ♀); 3,585 Farmers (41 % ♀)

Location Project Field Training and Action Research Activities • 3 Provinces (3 districts) in Lao PDR • 3 Provinces (3 districts) in Cambodia • 2 Provinces (3 districts) in Vietnam Programme development and administrative support by PMU (hosted by FAO-IPM office) and FAO Country Representations, in support of Local Management Units established at Provincial Departments of Agriculture Offices

FAO-IPM Office Architecture in Support of EU-AIT-SRI project • FAO Regional Office at RAP in Bangkok • Staffed by 2 Professional Staff and 2 administrative/IT support staff (part- time) • Cambodia: Phnom Penh, FAOR & PMU located at GDA • 1 national training assistant, 1 administrative & 1 driver (part- time) • Lao PDR: Vientiane, FAOR & PMU located at PPC-DOA • 1 national training assistant, 1 administrative & 1 driver (part-time) • Vietnam: Hanoi, FAOR & PMU located at Van Phuc, • 1 national training assistant, administrative & 1 driver (part-time)

FAO Regional Tasks & Responsibilities • Regional coordination & networking with other implementing partners and national counterparts and other project stakeholders • Coordination of national country project intervention strategies • Technical assistance for curriculum development, training/action research implementation • Ensure functional linkages to other FAO supported initiatives and informing policy processes • Documentation (progress reports, activity reports, terminal statement) • Overall administrative and financial management for the FAO contribution

Expectations by end of Inception Workshop • Country representatives better aware about global and national SRI concepts, principles practices and local initiatives • Country representatives oriented towards goals, partners, implement arrangements for EU-AIT- SRI project • Informal agreements at country level to engage in project implementation • Key elements of country implementation strategy, partner roles and responsibilities and workplans identified
