Retouching in General using Photoshop

  1. 1. Retouching in General through Photoshop
  2. 2. In this tutorial, you will have the basic idea on photo retouching using Photoshop.  In this quick tip, you will get to know on how to enhance a photo easily using a very neat trick.  If you are thinking about using Sharpen, it is not a really good option, since it can ruin some details, such as hair or more detailed textures.  If you overdo it, it will look really awkward.
  3. 3. Open the image in Photoshop.  Go to Layer> Duplicate Layer. Go to Filter> Other> High Pass.  Make some adjustments according to your image until you can see a raw contour of the objects in the picture.
  4. 4. Now, go to Window> Layers and set Blending mode to Overlay.  That will be it.  This is a quick and easy tutorial about photo retouching using Photoshop where you do not need to use other adjustments.
  5. 5. You will see the difference compare to the original image.  The hair, the eyelids, the skin and lips will look much clearer.  The texture and the contrast between the midtones and highlights also improve.  Overall, the picture looks more alive and provides more details.
  6. 6. I hope this tutorial has helped you get the basic idea about photo retouching using Adobe Photoshop. Hopefully, you can now do the photo retouching all by yourself in the future with confidence.
