  2. 3. WHAT IS EMOTION? <ul><li>The mental thinking or the feeling of a person at a particular instance knowingly or unknowingly is called an emotion. </li></ul>

WHO INFLUENCES EMOTIONS? <ul><li>Family, </li></ul><ul><li>health, </li></ul><ul><li>school, </li></ul><ul><li>teacher, </li></ul><ul><li>parental outlook, </li></ul><ul><li>social status, </li></ul><ul><li>mental ability, </li></ul><ul><li>will power and </li></ul><ul><li>economic status </li></ul>

STORY TELLING <ul><li>The teacher should…… </li></ul><ul><li>encourage the students to tell stories. </li></ul><ul><li>lay the foundation of good manners. </li></ul><ul><li>mould the behaviour of the children. </li></ul><ul><li>make use of storybooks, charts etc to create interest in the children. </li></ul>

PRACTICAL TEACHING <ul><li>The teacher should not only teach morals, good manners etc to the children but also put them in practice herself. </li></ul><ul><li>The teacher is a role model for the children. </li></ul><ul><li>If the teacher doesn’t practice what she teaches, the children will not learn it. </li></ul>
  7. 8. DRAMATISATION <ul><li>The teacher ……… </li></ul><ul><li>should act and react according to the situations. </li></ul><ul><li>should encourage the child to act like other persons. </li></ul><ul><li>Mahatma Gandhi learnt the moral to serve parents from the drama of “Shravan Kumara”. </li></ul>

ART EDUCATION <ul><li>It is one of the duties of the teacher to develop art among the children. </li></ul><ul><li>She should be well trained and good at art. </li></ul><ul><li>The teacher should recognize the interests of the children and encourage them accordingly. </li></ul><ul><li>Drawing, painting, stamp-collection, making albums, claywork, music etc are some of the activities of art. </li></ul>

ACTIVITES OF SCIENTIFIC CONCEPTS <ul><li>In PP stage children should be taught various daily activities through rhymes and songs. </li></ul><ul><li>The children should sleep for atleast 8-10hours. </li></ul><ul><li>The teacher should teach them good habits of sleeping and waking up using rhymes like – early to bed and early to rise, make a man healthy, wealthy and wise. </li></ul><ul><li>Parents and teachers should teach the child discipline and time sense. </li></ul>

ACTIVITES OF SCIENTIFIC CONCEPTS <ul><li>The school management should maintain a correct timetable so that the child’s health is not affected. </li></ul><ul><li>Parents and teachers should advise children to observe and learn from nature. </li></ul><ul><li>They should encourage children to participate in gardening, cooking etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Teachers should teach the children about seasons, clothing during various seasons and similar topics of general knowledge </li></ul>

SCHOOL READINESS ACTIVITES <ul><li>Reading can be increased in children by adopting attractive big, colourful picture books. </li></ul><ul><li>Binded notebooks, big pencils, colour pencils, scale, crayons should be given to the children. </li></ul><ul><li>Children should be encouraged to play. </li></ul><ul><li>Teacher can adopt games to educate children. </li></ul>
  12. 13. SCHOOL READINESS ACTIVITES <ul><li>She should teach different general knowledge concepts through rhymes, songs and stories. </li></ul><ul><li>Skill in reading should be developed. The children should be asked to read loudly expressing the various sounds. </li></ul><ul><li>Children should be encouraged to dance and enact dramas & mono actions in the school annual day. </li></ul><ul><li>Prizes should be given to encourage all the children to participate actively </li></ul>

WHY ART EDUCATION? <ul><li>Art education is an essential medium for the self-expression & harmonious development of the child. </li></ul><ul><li>It is considered a means of peace. </li></ul><ul><li>It cultivates a sense of beauty. </li></ul><ul><li>It also provides an outlet for the repressed emotions of a child. </li></ul>

AIMS OF ART EDUCATION <ul><li>to create interest about art in children, </li></ul><ul><li>to create respect for work, </li></ul><ul><li>to enable children to work in free atmosphere, </li></ul><ul><li>to bring out their self-expression, </li></ul><ul><li>to help children in making toys and assist teacher in preparing teaching aids etc. </li></ul>

STEPS TAKEN BY TEACHER TOWARDS ART EDUCATION <ul><li>Freedom of thought : freedom to express themselves. </li></ul><ul><li>Freedom of expression : providing the facilities for the activities they like. Ex. Dance, music, painting </li></ul><ul><li>C onstant changes in school decoration : to help in original thinking, school decoration should changed according to time and situation. </li></ul><ul><li>Creativity: encouraged & given opportunities to collect things they like. Ex. stamps, coins, flowers, leaves etc. </li></ul>

ACTIVITIES RELATED TO ART <ul><li>Collecting stamps, coins, flowers, leaves, stones </li></ul><ul><li>Making albums of feathers </li></ul><ul><li>Observing nature & painting them. </li></ul><ul><li>Collecting waste material like paper, clothes, wood etc &making toys out of them. </li></ul><ul><li>Drawing and painting. </li></ul><ul><li>Preparing models. </li></ul><ul><li>Listening to music and composing poems and songs. </li></ul><ul><li>Clay work: this helps to bring out the creativity in children. It has its own educational value. </li></ul>
