Pontecorvo

  1. 2. Our town, Pontecorvo, is divided in two districts: CIVITA and PASTINE. They are connected by a bridge which gives the name to the town.
  2. 4. Pontecorvo is a medieval town .
  3. 5. Pontecorvo is part of Frosinone, situated in the region of Lazio, near Rome.
  4. 7. Our town is crossed by the river LIRI.
  5. 9. Pontecorvo has got about 13.000 inhabitants .
  6. 10. The coat of arms of our country represents a bridge with a crow.

  8. 13. The historical centre of Pontecorvo is in Civita where we find the TOWN HALL .

  10. 17. In the past, Pontecorvo was famous for the production of CLAY objects. This is a typical jar of our town, made of clay .

  12. 19. This costume had a white blouse, a long and large skirt, a scarf on the head and sandals called CIOCIE .
  13. 20. An important event for our town is CARNIVAL,which is celebrated in February. On Carnival Day, there is a parade of allegorical floats along the streets .
  14. 22. A typical product of Pontecorvo is the PEPPER .
  15. 23. Saint John is the patron saint of Pontecorvo.His festivity is on the second Sunday of May .
