2. Sound: Non Digetic.
Non diegetic sound is used to show how adventurous
the film is, the Non Diegetic sound of the soundtrack
makes the film seem to have high’s and low’s in
emotion. Soundtracks for family films tend to be
upbeat and happy to connote the film genre of
family.
There also is a voice over to add extra information to
the film trailer, The voiceover is very powerful in this
particular trailer as it adds extra dimension to the
storyline.
3. Sound: Diegetic.
The Dialogue in the film is old English, which makes the
film seem like it was based on an earlier period in
time.
4. Camera:
In the beginning there is a two shot which shows the
growing relationship between the father and son,
the dog is also in the shot which makes it seem like
the dog brings the relationship together.
Also in the beginning there is a Close up shot of Lassie
to show that she is the main character in the film.
There is also a low angle shot of Lassie to show her
intelligence and also to show her adventurous side.
5. Editing:
There are numerous cross fades in the film trailer
which shows the spontaneity in the film. Lassie is
never in the same place for more than 10 seconds in
the film.
There are numerous inserts in the film of the actors
and actresses names, this will enhance the amount of
viewers that the film will have as they will be
interested in the new film that they have featured
in.
6. Mise En Scene;
Location of the old English house:
The old English house makes the film look antique. This
adds a certain over all tone to the film, it makes the
film look and feel old.
Also the location of the Scottish fields show the amount
of energy and time that Lassie will put into finding
her original owners, the fields show a sense of the
dogs nature as adventurous.
