Question 7

  1. 1. Question 7: Looking back at your preliminary task (the school magazine) what do you feel you have learnt in progressions from it to full product?
  2. 2. Contrast of Front Covers
  3. 3. Contrast of CONTENTS pages
  4. 4. IMPROVEMENTS I think I have improved since my preliminary task of creating a school magazine. I didn’t try to use a unique font for my school magazine, and I used a default font. I also wasn't use to Photoshop at that time so I struggled a lot in trying to position the pages. The puff on my school magazine doesn’t stand out as it should in comparison to my music magazine. Although my school magazines followed most of the conventions of a front cover page, I positioned the barcode on the left instead of the right and I didn’t personalise the barcode as I did with my music magazine As I am more aware of how to use Photoshop and the other software used to produce my media product, I found it easier to use more intricate details in my magazine and learnt how to use tools to make my magazine appear more professional. I also used tutorials on YouTube so that I could learn how to do certain things, which I hadn't don’t for my preliminary task. I also think research aided in my progressions. For my music magazine, I looked at a range of magazines such as ‘NME’ and ‘Kerrang’ so that I was more familiar with indie magazines which helped me understand what I needed to do to create an indie magazine.
