1. EVALUATION
QUESTION 7
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
2. From the start of my magazine production
journey, I have been able to therefore enhance
and engage upon various skills new and old,
such as my new outlook upon my Photoshop
improvements, as I can now professionally
engage towards the editing and production of
any task using this base to do this. Furthermore
there is an obvious difference/ improvement
between my preliminary task and my final music
magazine product.
3. When establishing how to start my prelim
exercise/ magazine, I gained a valuable
recognition towards what a standard magazine
look like, therefore the simple conventions and
the simple layout. Furthermore from research
into popular music magazines, such as ‘Billboard’
or ‘Q magazine’, I gradually gained a professional
understanding into the accurate conventions
within magazine. These changes in my
understanding, on the other hand the
improvement from my preliminary task to my
music magazine, show an outstanding positive
improvement in knowledge towards the
magazine production business.
5. Since I have produced my music
magazine, I have learnt how to plan my
work efficiently, to therefore suit the
timetables of my models, and myself. I
have also recognised how to plan
accordingly out side of school timetable,
and therefore make use of any spare time
to therefore take pictures or plan
pictures, for my magazine. Finally in my
planning I have learnt how to maintain a
diary on blogger, and furthermore I have
learnt how to book rooms, to use for
photography and mis en scene aspects
with the account of props.
7. Within my preliminary task, I used a single gender for
my magazine pictures, this being a male, furthermore
the same male on each photo. I also used the same use
of a medium close up for each image, with a minimum
amount of props; therefore since I have made my
music magazine, I have learnt how to successfully
entertain the reader, therefore capturing a sense of
excitement. To do this I learnt a variety of camera
angle, the rule of thirds and how to link the mis en
scene correctly with the fore ground and background
of an image. You can clearly see a positive contrasting
difference between my prelim task and my music
magazine, furthermore you can see the difference in
attention to detail, image quality and the links between
the audience and the magazine genre.
