  3. 3. + About Habaka  Habaka, formerly known as Malagasy i-Hub is a project born in 2011, started at the base by independent Malagasy web actors (bloggers and independent workers in new technologies). It is born from the desire to share skills to bring new life to the technology sector in Madagascar, but also to disseminate the technology and web culture. An april 2013, Habaka became a non-profit organisation.  Malagasy word that means cloud or space  Technology innovation space for the community in Madagascar
  4. 4. + Departments & Services  Events The events department is managing the organization of technological meetings and focus on new technologies events (conferences, Café ICT, barcamps, contests / challenges, road show, events in the international license, etc..)  Training - Incubation of tech startups - Appropriation of ICT by youth people, women and vulnerable populations - Endogenous production of web content that requires familiarity with publishing tools on the net.  Coworking space The coworking department is managing a scalable up to 3,000 m2 physical space for collaborative work, for self-employed web and new technologies in Antananarivo, located at Tsimbazaza (inside the CIDST)
  5. 5. + Sample of Event   The Cafe TIC event is an after work gathering of tech professionals and led by panelists every other Wednesday evening. It gathers about a hundred people made of geek, policy makers, business and organizational leaders or students. Topics can range from specific to broader areas of technology. Café TIC

  7. 7. + Who uses Habaka ?  Startups  Web professionals Habaka fully share the vision, objectives and strategic thrusts of the national ICT development policy entitled "ICT in the service of sustainable human development in Madagascar. Vision 2015 ". Talking about training, this document states that "the important thing is [...] to define a strategy that will allow a better access to knowledge and citizens to public information, the appropriation of new technologies, the emergence of a local industry of multimedia products and services for real economic integration and ultimately, ownership of content, to enhance the cultural, technical, and social conditions in Madagascar, its essential for human development and profitable growth of its traditional economic sectors. "
