3. SCM on HANA - Overview
SAP Business Suite applications can use SAP HANA as (the only) primary database
– Applications - SAP ERP, SAP CRM, and SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM) can fully run on
top of SAP HANA as primary database.
– LiveCache server and Application Server can run on same HANA DB (Integrated liveCache).
• Delivered as Enhancement packages
– SAP SCM 7.0 - SAP Enhancement Package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, Version for SAP HANA or EhP 3
Please note: not all scenarios / industries are already released for productive use with SAP HANA
Optimizations are delivered through business functions that are reversible.
SAP HANA Live (formerly called SAP HANA Analytics Foundation)
Provides an open environment allowing Operational analytics and reporting on fresh SAP Business Suite data.
Based on analytical views in a virtual data model, business users gain new ways to analyze operational data to build their own
reports and documents.

4. SCM on HANA – Deployment Options
Option 1 : Greenfield, Fresh Implementation
Similar to any other Business Suite implementation, but SAP SCM
application with HANA as primary database
Optimizations (currently none in SCM) need to be enabled through Switch
framework and / or Customization through IMG.
Project life cycle is similar to fresh SAP Business Suite implementation
Key is SAP HANA appliance sized to SAP SCM Application needs
Option 2 - Migration of Existing systems

1. Update to latest Enhancement Package 3 for SCM 7.0 and
latest version of SAP NetWeaver technology platform (AS
ABAP 7.4)
2. Migrate from any database to SAP HANA database
Post DB migration, Optimizations (currently none in SCM; refer
SAP Note 1761546) need to be enabled through Switch
framework and / or Customization through IMG.
