  4. 4. Set it up exactly the way the letters of the alphabet are set up on the board.</li></ul>DO NOW! (3 min)<br />

OBJECTIVES:<br />By the end of the lesson, SWBAT:<br />1. name letters quickly and automatically<br />2. set up magnetic journal effectively<br />3. pronounce letter names and corresponding sounds accurately with a “keyword”<br />4. practice decoding words in specific patterns<br />…80% of the time.<br />

What is a digraph?<br />To help you understand let’s look at these sound cards:<br />wh, ch, th, sh, ck<br />These consonants stick together to form one sound even though they are made up of two letters.<br />They are called digraphs!<br />What words can you think of that begin with the digraph wh?<br />GREAT! So what do you notice about wh?<br />Two letters with one sound. <br />What do we call it again?<br />Digraph<br />What is a digraph?<br />WE DO: (5min) close<br />
