  3. 3. MORE THAN 170 GANGS IN GLASGOW <ul><li>There are estimated to be more than 170 gangs in Glasgow city region – this compares to 169 identified by the Metropolitan Police service in London a city more than six times the size </li></ul>

MOST DEADLY ATTACKS FUELLED BY BOOZE <ul><li>Most deadly attacks are fuelled by alcohol or drugs and stabbings were the main cause of fatal injuries. </li></ul><ul><li>According to the report, the typical murderer was male, aged 16 to 29, lived in Glasgow, knew the victim and stabbed them to death with a knife during a drunken weekend row. </li></ul>
