Enhancing the Student ExperienceEnhancing the Student Experience • Ask students to choose a skill or individual attribute and create a personal development plan for improvement. • Group students with like skill sets and have them develop a collective development plan • Include the results in a classroom assignment where the students identify their plans to improve • Use data to identify at risk students. Offer the at risk students tutorial opportunities
  12. 12. Enhancing the Institutional Experience Use with at-risk students • IDENTIFY students who scored in the lower range • ENCOURAGE student advisors to be proactive with contact and support. • OFFER support tutorials for the students who are deficient in some of the skills and attributes.
  13. 13. Enhancing the Institutional Experience• Use results to gather info about student body • COMPARE student data. • EXPLORE correlations between the SmarterMeasure scores and student satisfaction, retention or GPA • TREND mean scores for incoming students to gauge changes in student body

Student Readiness and Retention• Study - used the SmarterMeasure results to evaluate the correlations between student readiness for distance learning and one-year student retention.• Population - undergraduate students enrolled in online and blended programs.• Results - showed some positive significance between technical skills, time management and motivation and one-year retention.
