  • How? It's as simple as 'set expectations,' give them tools, make their opinions matter and provide frequent (extrinsic) recognition?

    Sounds really really easy. Why does engagement stink? Might there be a leadership gap? Might some managers just be really bad bosses? That is what CEO Jim Clifton of Gallup said -- fire them! He said to fire 7,000,000 people who are bad bosses.

    If we expect change, we need to support change. The four bullets or some extrinsically applied reinforcement system will do nothing. We've been doing those same things for many dozens of years.
