What is Google Video? <ul><li>Google Video (Youtube) is a website where users can upload different kind of videos where people can view them. </li></ul><ul><li>Popular videos are: </li></ul><ul><li>Music videos, movie trailers, TV shows, personal movies. </li></ul><ul><li>Click the video for example </li></ul>
  4. 4. Pros and cons <ul><li>Google Video can be a great tool for expressing views and watching different videos. </li></ul><ul><li>One problem with Google Video is members can go to the extremes and use to slander and condemn different groups or people. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Wow! How do I sign up? <ul><li>If you want to display your own videos you need to sign up, but if you just want to watch the videos you do not have to. </li></ul><ul><li>The first step to signing up on Youtube is to click on the signup/login button. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Okay now what? <ul><li>Like most websites you need to create a username and a password. </li></ul><ul><li>Once your signed up, you have the ability to upload movies. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Slideshare.net <ul><li>Slideshare.net is a useful tool for presentations. </li></ul><ul><li>Members can post their powerpoints onto the websites and people can view them. It is also possible to download them. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Are there any problems with it? <ul><li>It is very similar to Google Video, but it is strictly powerpoints. </li></ul><ul><li>The website does not restrict what people post on the site. It does do some filtering, but it is based on freedom of speech. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Sign me up Scotty! <ul><li>This site ironically allows you to upload powerpoints without signing up. To sign up though, click on the tab where it says guest…. Once you create your username and password, you can upload slides. </li></ul>

  11. 11. Okay, now what? <ul><li>Once you upload your file, slideshare will take care of the rest and you are free to do whatever you would like to do. </li></ul>

Skype <ul><li>Skype is the latest type of computer phone. </li></ul><ul><li>Skype can call different Skype users and other land or cell based phones. </li></ul><ul><li>Users can talk for free if they use the computers. </li></ul><ul><li>Users are charged if they call a cell phone or house phone. </li></ul>
  13. 13. Here’s how to sign up <ul><li>First go onto the Skype website. </li></ul><ul><li>www.skype.com </li></ul>
  14. 14. <ul><li>Click on the link where it says you can download the program and download it </li></ul>
  15. 15. To sign up <ul><li>First create an account. </li></ul><ul><li>Fill out the information </li></ul><ul><li>Check for availability with your username </li></ul>
  16. 17. Fill out your email address and where you live. That is it then you are now an official user of Skype. Just sign in, find your buddies and enjoy
  17. 18. Data used when researching <ul><li>For the use of Google Video, I talked to a friend and frequent user of the site. I also did some searching to see if I could find racial or inappropriate content on the site which there was. This is the same for Slideshare. </li></ul><ul><li>Skype I researched the website where it clearly explained it’s use and how the system charges. </li></ul>
